What Goes in the Trash Cart

Most everyday household trash goes right in the cart. A few things don't, for the safety of our crew and the truck. Here's the quick guide for Lakeland customers in Branson and the Tri-Lakes.

Goes in the cart

Bagging and tying your trash keeps it from blowing out of the cart and the truck.

Hazardous waste

Paint, chemicals, pesticides, motor oil, and similar products shouldn't go in household trash. They can leak, react, or catch fire in the truck. Ask Taney County about household hazardous waste disposal options near you.

Batteries & propane

Lithium batteries (phones, laptops, vapes, power tools) and propane cylinders can start fires when they're crushed in a garbage truck. Never put them in the cart. Taney County notes that lithium batteries are not accepted at its recycle center or transfer station either, so ask a battery retailer about drop-off.

Bulky items

For a lot of bulky items at once, a dumpster rental is usually easier.
